The podcast has been running since April 2016 and is produced and hosted in Sydney, Australia by Matt Wakeling. The Guitar Speak Podcast has steadily built a following around the world.

Matt is a working guitarist and music educator.

In addition to producing The Guitar Speak Podcast he has written for Cyclic Defrost Magazine and Jam Buzz, moderated Q & A sessions at the Sydney Guitar Festival, and has appeared as a guest on Everyone Loves Guitar, Become a Guitarist Today, The School of Podcasting and The Musicians Inn.

Matt has served as a Beta Tester for Loopy (iOS looping app) and Fretboard Biology (online instructional course) and was featured in edition #29 of Australian Guitar Magazine.

The Guitar Speak Podcast has hosted advertising for Michael Dolce (The Voice Australia) Masterclasses, Fretboard Biology and Reverb's 'The Pedal Movie'.
